Electric Guitar Course

Ages 9 & up, >2 years guitar experience

The Electric Guitar Course is for students passionate about band music, including Rock, Pop, Jazz, Funk, and Metal. Students develop both their rhythm and lead guitar techniques through learning riffs, chords, and guitar solos, while also strengthening their ear training and music theory knowledge.
  • Alternate Picking Techniques & Advanced Picking Techniques
  • Articulation (Hammer-ons, Pull-offs, Slides, Bends, Palm-muting, Vibrato, etc)
  • Rhythms - Triplets, Semiquaver subdivisions
  • Reading intermediate note rhythms & play by ear
  • Barre Chords, Triads & other advanced chord shapes
  • Strumming patterns
  • Scales & Arpeggios
  • Improvisation or Sight Reading

What students can achieve:

  • Develop rhythm and lead guitar techniques, along with musicality to play a variety of genres such as Rock, Pop, Funk, and more.
  • Be able to take the Grade 2 - Grade 8 Electric Guitar exam (Trinity or Rockschool syllabus)

In which areas do you offer lessons?
We offer lessons in Petaling Jaya, Sunway, Bangsar, Bukit Damansara, Mont Kiara, and Hartamas.
No, we can provide a guitar for the trial lesson.
The trial lesson is at a discounted rate of RM15.
The trial lesson will be similar to a regular lesson, allowing students to experience learning and playing the guitar.
Weekly lessons are RM60 for a 30-minute session and RM90 for a 45-minute session. Fees are billed at the beginning of each month and prorated.
We are flexible – you can arrange a makeup lesson or the session will not be charged.

Yes, having your own guitar is essential for consistent practice and progress. We recommend Picking the Right Guitar for Your Child.

On average, a child progresses by one grade level per year with regular practice and coaching, starting from pre-Grade – Grade 1 – Grade 2, and beyond.

We recommend that all students join Group Lessons to supplement their individual practice. There is no extra charge for Group Lessons.

Group Lessons is where students of different levels and ages come together to review music, refine techniques, and develop ensemble skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
Group lessons are designed as a supplement to one-on-one lessons, which are necessary for personalized attention and guidance.

Some teenagers with experience playing guitar or violin are able to start at a higher grade (eg. Grade 2,3 or even 4). Our teacher will assess your child’s level during the trial lesson – Book a Trial Lesson

In most cases, The Beginner Guitar Course is ideal to establish a solid foundation while learning melodies and chords on the guitar.
